Working with pastels has greatly expanded the selection of colors I choose to use in my portraits. This new set of violets from Unison is a most effective range of colors to suggest the subtle changes in temperature that occurs within the planes of the head. Violet is a most workable color since it can be either warm or a cool depending upon the circumstances. I would encourage any artist who is anxious to inject his/her work with more interesting color, to explore the possibilities that these colors provide.
